What an engineer session looks like

Setup, handled

The room is patched, the mic is up, and Pro Tools is rolling before you finish your first drink.

Tracked while you work

Takes are tracked, comped, and organized in the moment, not after.

Vocal production in the room

Auto-Tune Unlimited, Melodyne, and VocAlign, used with taste.

Leave with clean files

Organized session files and a rough mix, ready for the next step.

Engineers work in all four rooms, on the same chain: a Neve 1073 into a Tube-Tech CL1B, with mics up to the Sony C800G. See the full equipment list and the pricing page.

Engineer questions

What does the house engineer do?+

Runs your whole session: mic setup, Pro Tools, tracking and comping, tuning with Auto-Tune or Melodyne, and a rough mix to leave with. You focus on the take.

How much does an engineer cost?+

Rates start at $25 an hour and go up with the engineer's experience and credits. Request one with your booking and the studio confirms the exact rate when it confirms your time.

Can I bring my own engineer instead?+

Of course. Every room is set up for outside engineers: Pro Tools 2024, the full plugin suite, and the same Neve 1073 and Tube-Tech CL1B chain everywhere.

Do I need an engineer for my first session?+

If you have never run a session, yes, book one. A good engineer is the difference between leaving with a song and leaving with a folder of takes.
